CLOS DES LAMBRAYS ~ Wine Dinner

Restaurant Martin Wishart has the pleasure of welcoming Thierry Brouin, Winemaking Director of Clos des Lambrays for a very special event this June.
During this event guests will enjoy canapés, amuse bouche, a four course tasting menu specially designed by Martin Wishart and a matching wine selection from Clos des Lambrays, which will include their famous Grand Cru. Dinner will be followed by coffee and handmade petit fours.
The very first reference to « Clos des Lambrays » traces back to the fourteenth century. Archives of the Abbey of Cîteaux reveal its founding around 1365. An engraved milestone, still in its original location, commemorates the founding. After the French Revolution, the Clos became extremely fragmented. Based on the archives and maps of the vines owned by the Domaine, the survival and recomposition of the fragments of the Clos des Lambrays was due in large part to the strong vision and willpower of its different owners during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In the spring of 2014 Bernard Arnault’s Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) luxury group made its first move into Burgundy, buying Domaine des Lambrays from Ruth Freund for an undisclosed sum. This was a rare opportunity to own an exceptional terroir that has long produced wines regarded as among the best in Burgundy. LVMH is dedicated to maintaining the exceptional quality and reputation of this great domaine with the long-time director/wine-maker Thierry Brouin (who has overseen 38 vintages here) having overseen a smooth transition from previous owners, the Freund family.
Dinner will start at 7:00pm with a welcome aperitif and canapés.
This will be followed by a four course menu specially designed by Martin Wishart to pair with these fantastic wines, guest speaker Thierry Brouin, Winemaking Director of Clos des Lambrays
